Founded by Efia Tekyi-Annan, a diasporan entrepreneur and community leader, Shea Lumé was born from a lifelong connection to Ghana and a decade spent uplifting Black women entrepreneurs across Canada. Efia comes from a powerful lineage of female traders, innovators, and cultural carriers — women who shaped Ghana’s markets, built communities from the ground up, and passed down an unshakeable legacy of leadership. When Efia travelled to Northern Ghana, she witnessed the brilliance of the women who produce one of the world’s most prized beauty ingredients: shea butter. Their skill fuels a global industry, yet they remain unseen in the luxury space their hands help create. Shea Lumé exists to transform that story. We merge cultural authenticity, premium-quality skincare, and global inclusivity to create products that honour the women who craft our raw materials while welcoming every person of every shade, culture, and background into our world of beauty and heritage.
